So, tomorrow is my birthday (Actually, by EST submission time, today. I know, double pro! 8D), but my mother couldn't get off work that day so she got off today and we went over to my grandparents house for an initial round of presents and cake the day before. 8D (Can you tell I'm happy?) So one of the things I got was a set of 48 Prismacolor professional alcohol-based markers! So there was an immediate "zomg, there must be a test run" from both me and my brother. So I pulled out a sketch I did a few weeks ago, made a light copy of it in our scanner/printer, pulled out my brother's liner pens (trying to get a set for my self with additional brush tips), inked it by hand (which turned out extremely pro compared to my last attempt at hand inking 8D), scanned and made a copy of that, then colored it with my pro markers, and as you can see I HAVE AN INHERENT AMOUNT OF PRO-NESS WITH MARKERS.
8D
Of course, I'm not fooling myself, there are plenty of mistakes, and some things a little practice will definitely nix. But, I mean, seriously, first try with good markers and I come up with this. I am pleased. Oh, and the chick, don't ask, I have no fscking clue, but she's pretty pro despite a few mistakes as well.
As for the markers, the only things that really makes me sad is that there's no gray marker in the set. I had to pencil the shading on the floating "armor". I shall rectify that as soon as I can. The other thing I need to do is get marker paper. I had to do this on good old printer paper and there are a few places where bleeding was a serious problem because the paper was too thin. I imagine the colors would also look much different with thicker paper to seep into.
Oh, and DA. Your submission system sucks ass yet again. If this gets deleted because it was supposedly in the wrong category, it's your fault for having asinine subdivisions that I can't decipher.
Thanks! All the armor stuff is supposed to be floating, so it's not really touching her head. Probably didn't the best perception job showing that with the crown/helm in comparison to the other pieces, but oh well.
